Maverick is built around the Nordic nRF52840 SoC, a 64MHz ARM Cortex-M4F microcontroller with 1MB Flash and 256KB RAM, offering advanced DSP capabilities, floating-point support, and ultra-low power operation. It supports Bluetooth 5.3, Thread, Zigbee, and proprietary 2.4GHz protocols, with a custom PCB trace antenna delivering up to 120 meters of range.
At its core is the Semtech SX1268 LoRa transceiver, capable of 1W (30dBm) output with integrated PA/LNA, offering robust, long-range communication up to 12km. The radio supports a wide frequency range (410–493MHz)
Positioning is handled by the u-blox SAM-M10Q GNSS module, supporting concurrent reception of GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou. It features Super-S technology for enhanced sensitivity and accuracy, even in urban or obstructed environments.
Maverick includes a 21700 battery holder (with optional JST input), an 800mA solar-optimized charger, and onboard battery monitoring via the MAX17048X. Environmental sensing is covered by the Bosch BME280 (temperature, pressure, humidity), LSM6DS3 IMU, VEML7700 ambient light sensor, and a removable 0.96" OLED display for local feedback.
With an IP68 USB-C port, Qwiic and extension connectors, and SWD debug access, Maverick is ready for integration into custom hardware stacks, solar-powered repeaters, or remote sensor networks.
